Transcon Shipping Acquired by Radiant Logistics

Logisyn is proud to announce our role as sell-side advisor to Transcon Shipping, which was acquired by Radiant Logistics earlier this month. Transcon Shipping is a US-based NVOCC that combines decades of excellence in ocean freight services with a complementary portfolio of air freight and transportation offerings. Having known the Logisyn team for over a decade, Transcon owner Terry Lynch knew our firm was perfectly positioned to find them an optimal partner who would keep their culture and values intact.

“I started Transcon in 1997 with just an idea based on ocean sales experience. I had a small checkbook but a large network in global logistics. Transcon grew year after year by staying focused on our core services and offering unique value to our customers. After almost 30 years, I decided it was time to find the right long-term opportunity for our team and customers. I’ve known Jan Raymond and Cris Arens for many years and turned to Logisyn. Cris was able to find the perfect partner in Radiant Logistics. Jake and Kevin from the Logisyn team helped us navigate the M&A process from start to finish. Our team is eager for the next chapter.” - Terry Lynch, Owner of Transcon

Radiant Logistics, Inc. is a third-party logistics company providing technology-enabled global transportation and value-added logistics solutions primarily to customers based in the United States and Canada. Logisyn previously worked with the Radiant team on another successful transaction and has maintained a relationship with them as part of our buyer network over the years. Given their expansion goals, Radiant was identified as an ideal candidate to bring the Transcon family into their fold. This acquisition strengthens Radiant’s footprint in Los Angeles, New York, and Chicago, while offering an expanded suite of services to Transcon’s current customer base.

“Cris Arens and I have known each other for 30 years, dating back to his CargoWise days. We bought a company from Logisyn in Minneapolis many years ago. I’ve been impressed by Logisyn’s growth and their focus on the logistics industry. Even from the other side of the table, our team was very impressed with their process, which only continues to improve. We look forward to seeing more of Logisyn’s projects going forward.”  - Bohn Crain, CEO of Radiant Logistics

Given our pre-existing relationships with both the buyer and seller, the Logisyn team feels confident that these companies are perfectly aligned for the future and expects to see great things for the industry come out of this partnership. Our role as “match-maker” during an M&A process is a position we take very seriously, and we always strive to deliver a solution that benefits both companies.

"M&A is a combination of art, negotiation, compromise, and matchmaking. It always requires hard work and sometimes a little luck to bring the right companies together. Financials, trade lanes, technology, and services are, of course, critical, but the longer I’m in this game, the more certainty I have that it is mainly a cultural fit. From the first meeting between Transcon and Radiant up through the wire transfer, Terry and his team loved the buyer fit. I know Bohn and his team felt the same way. Wanting to work together usually leads to success.” - Cris Arens, Managing Partner at Logisyn
