Mikael Olesen

Mikael began his career in freight forwarding in the early 90s in Denmark. He later transferred to the US where he has lived and worked in Los Angeles, New York, and Chicago including his time as the CEO of LEMAN USA. He has worked extensively with partners worldwide, especially in Europe and Asia, and understands cultural differences across continents, countries, and companies.

During his career, Mikael has successfully focused on building up teams and companies, from scratch as well as turnarounds. Since 2017 Mikael has been working in the M&A space, servicing large, top-50 global 3PLs as well as many small and medium-sized enterprises, utilizing his vast network built up over 30+ years in the industry.

Mikael has an Executive MBA in Finance from Rutgers University. In his spare time, he is involved in real estate investing and dabbles with stocks/options trading. Mikael is currently serving on the board of the Danish Home in Chicago and has previously served as a board member with the Danish Church in Brooklyn. He is an active mentor in the Rutgers University teamUP program. He is actively involved in Toastmasters International, having held several leadership positions, and currently runs a Youth Leadership Program. He enjoys traveling and spending time both in Europe and Asia with his family. He plays pickleball and badminton and likes to go for the occasional ride on his 1939 Nimbus motorcycle when the Chicago weather permits.
